Overview
Madhumalai Tiger reserve was the first national park of southern India which was founded in 1940. It has recently been declared as a tiger sanctuary. The wildlife sanctuary is located on the northwestern side of the Moir River and the Nilgiri Hills. This tiger reserve is famous as it is home for large herds of elephants.

Madhumalai tiger reserve draws a great deal of attention to the tourists from the country and abroad. The tiger reserve shares its borders with Karnataka and the State of Kerala. Situated on the Nilgiri Hills, the attractive wilderness area is surrounded by a variety of natural estates. Nature lovers can have a wonderful time here. The Mudumalai Sanctuary is an important wildlife habitat, which has become an essential part of the Nilgiri biosphere reserve between other protected areas due to its strategic location. The Madhumalai tiger reserve has Elephant Grass which grows tall, giant type of Bamboo, expensive timber types such as Teak, Rosewood, etc. The park has several species of widespread flora. Also, the tiger reserve is populated by a wide variety of wild animals such as the Tiger, Elephant, Indian Gaur, Panther, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Common Langur, Malabar Giant Squirrel, Wild Dog, Mangoose, Jungle Cat, Hyena, among others. 
The Madhumalai tiger reserve consists of several varieties of over 260 bird species. Around 8 percentage of the bird species in India are found only in Mudumalai. Rare bird species such as Malabar grey hornbill, Malabar pied hornbill, Malabar laughing thrush, Frogmouths and a variety of woodpeckers are seen here. The Hornbills, Malabar whistling thrush, peacock and jungle fowl are the other important species of birds seen in Mudumalai tiger reserve

Day 01: Ooty

Day 03: Ooty - Mudumalai

Morning After Breakfast check out resort and depart to Mudumalai , Mudumalai The sanctuary is mainly an elephant preserve, with over 600 pachyderms here. Day 04: Mudumalai
